Transport of transformer to the Düwing substation construction site – working together for the future
27th November 2025
Sometimes it’s the big steps that make the path to a sustainable future visible. Transporting our 83-tonne transformer (50/63 MVA) to the Düwing substation construction site was such a moment.
This substation will serve as an entry point for four wind farms in the future—a crucial component of the energy transition. But before this transformer could start working, precision, team spirit, and the utmost attention were required:
- Night-time delivery via the main road to the reloading point
- Transshipment on a self-propelled modular transporter that completed the last few metres
- Steel plates for a solid ground, chain hoists for exact positioning
- And above all: a team working with responsibility and passion
Every move counted, every decision made was right – and together we made it. We thank all partners involved, especially the transport company Colonia Spezialfahrzeuge that safely and successfully carried out this complex transport.
Together with Westenergie Netzservice GmbH, we are proud to be part of this project that not only moves technology forward, but also shapes the future of energy supply.
